Identification
To seek someone’s identity can be performed over so many enrolled identities in the database (we refer to as “N”), then it can recognize a person and giving outcome in real-time using SmartFace Tech ABIS (Authentication Biometric identification System).
In a Database containing of the whole Nation-wide Identities, it is absolutely to make sure every citizen as an individual must have only one identity. We will refer this as National ID databases which involve millions to billions of data where any duplication of identities are very much difficulties related to such databases.
Every time we register new users, every single data must be checked against the whole content of the database (Many-to-Many or N: N) to find out if any duplicates are available.
Every time we conduct authentication, the main thing that is required to figure out is whether a given set of authorizations data already available in the database (it is either One-to-Many / 1: N or One-to-One / 1:1).
The following are the process of this system. It includes:
1. The records obtained in the course of registration process will be pre-programmed to be flatten, encrypted by the specific registration software, and passed to a central storage (this is mostly well-known as National Population Register / NPR or the National Identity Register / NIR), where it runs into various pre-programmed steps of execution and confirmation.
2. The templates are produced from the biometrics images of biography-related data taken from the registration process.
3. After that it will be continuously searched (into the priorly registered templates in related to that specific identities) until it gets matched.
4. If there is no match obtained, we can consider the identity as new entrant and will be put forward to the next step to be validated furthermore.
5. If obtaining a match, we can consider that the identity was priorly registered got duplicate.
6. If obtaining a doubt to conclude the decision, we will need human judgement (an operator which already got training and knows how to give confirmation whether it is matched or consider this as deception and will recommend suitable moves to be taken to avoid the finalizing of registration).
To strengthen the de-duplication process, it also includes some additional process as follows:
• By using a metadata obtained during registration process, this can be set forth in further to the process of evaluating, assessing, confirming, and connecting to any other claimed identity purpose such as social subsidy, health program, legal, etc
• After identity is examined, then it can be analysed for the social footprint. For example, cross-checking and referring with other external databases and any available information (such as: property registers, voter registers, civil registers, and police records, etc)
• After all those assessments verify that the identity is real as well as connected to the existing registers mentioned above, then it can be issued a unique identification number (every country has their own term to be referred to) then the identity will be added into the NPR or NIR.
• Finally, this identity is made permanent and tied to the NPR or NIR for lifetime.
This SmartFace Tech ABIS, consists of:
• The registration station (put in the front-end) to capture biometric data
• The ABIS (put at the backend) performs de-duplication process across one or multiple biometric modalities, to ensure the singularity of each data in the database or identity repository. One subject of person only has one unique identity
• Nation-wide SmartFace Tech ABIS can be considered as the only source of information of the population that any Individuals, Organizations, and Governments can count on it
